Oh, Doctor, Doctor!

Lesson 1 (yes, I have learnt a lessons before i have even left the country!):
Do go to the doctor and organises vaccinations ASAP.

I needed a shot of Vivaxim, which combines the vaccine for Hep A and Typhoid together, for the Czech Republic, but when I went to get it, I was told that it was out of stock, and wouldn't be available until mid-April. That was alright, seeing as I wasn't leaving until the end of April, and I wouldn't be in the CZ.R until June.

Oh, how wrong I was.

Let's go back to Thursday, April 21st... I went to the chemist to buy Vivaxim and was told that it now will not be available until May 13! **Insert stress here** Yes, a lot of stress. I didn't know what to do, and spent the whole day freaking out that I wouldn't be able to go the the CZ.R, because I wasn't vaccinated against Hep A and Typhoid. But the more people who I spoke to about my dilemma, the less I was stressing. Many of them had not been vaccinated for the CZ.R. Phew!

Today I was told that Hep A has been out of stock since December, and the likelihood of me going to the doctor in December was pretty much non-existant. **cease stressing** I did get my Boostrix shot, and a new prescription for Typhoid only, if I decide to get it. My lovely Russian doctor also told me that there was no point getting Twinvrix (the dual Hep A and B vaccine) because I leave so soon.

Crisis averted!

I can now count the days on one hand!

With 16 days to go, I have started to think a little bit more of what to take with me to Europe. A big thank you to Deanne for lending me her back pack, because a) I now have a back pack, and b) having it ensures that I will start to get a little more organised!
